Rune of the Day: Lagaz Reversed

Don’t spend too much time worrying today, it’s worry that is keeping you from acting. Lately you have been overthinking things so much that you have lost focus, become afraid to move in a different direction, or to try a new path. Listen to your intuition and your heart and proceed with caution. It’s not necessary to leap into something new no holds barred but it is necessary to take the first few steps or you will just stagnate.

This is a good time to change our focus from the material things that so dominate this time of year. We can get so caught up in the gift giving and the sales that we lose sight of other things. Look over all the things that you own, take those that are no longer being used and give them to those that can make use of them. The more we clear out our physical space, the more we open up our spiritual space.

Lagaz and the 10 of Pentacles both reversed are telling us it’s time to make a change. Both speak of being stuck, the 10 of being stuck in the material world, Lagaz of being stuck in our own minds. Clear both of them out, while you’re giving away the material goods that no longer serve you, review some of your beliefs and ideas. Let go of those that no longer ring true, that no longer bring you peace and comfort. As we mature and grow, so do our ideals and beliefs. They may have served you once well, but if they are just blocking you now, send them on their way.

Rune of the Day: Gifu

Make sure that you are holding up your end of any agreements today, both spoken and unspoken. Everything in life involves give and take and when we do more taking than giving we are opening the door for karmic justice. Sooner or later, and always when it is least convenient and most difficult, we will find ourselves in a situation where we have to do more giving than taking.

It may seem like a good idea to take the easy way out, to cut some corners just to get the results that we want.  Remember all actions have consequences, that our actions invite different energies into our lives. The more positive our actions, the more positive the energy-of course the reverse is also true: the more negative our actions, the more negative the energy around us.

The pairing of Gifu with the 7 of Swords is clearly speaking about fulfilling our agreements, our responsibilities, about doing what is expected, and required, of us. Everyone slides a bit on their responsibilities once in a while, just be careful not to slide too much. Taking advantage of, or doing something that outright harms others, just because it’s easier than doing things the right way, will eventually come back upon us.

You really need to go with the flow today; things are not going to go as you had planned, but that’s okay. The interruptions and detours in your path today are there to open up new doors for you, to help your personal advancement. The more flexible and open to change you are, the sooner your new path will become clear, and the easier things will be.

Things start happening rapidly now; changes you have been working on, goals you have been working towards, right now everything is just starting to come together very quickly. Just step back and let things play out as they happen, trying to micromanage could actually upset the whole applecart today.

Raidho reversed paired with the 8 of Wands is telling us that although things are coming together quickly for us, they may not be coming together in quite the way we had planned. We need to be flexible, trying to force things to work out according to our plan will just cause problems and delays. Just because an outcome isn’t exactly what we had in mind, doesn’t mean that it is as bad outcome, it may even be a little better than what we had anticipated.

Take some time to look at the things in your life that you are not comfortable with-perhaps it is time to let these things go. True, lasting peace and happiness only come from within, nothing outside yourself will provide them except temporarily.

Don’t be so focused on a specific goal that you lose track of how you get there. Competition is healthy but when you are determined to win at any cost, it lowers not just you but also the goal that you are trying to reach. Take time to carefully consider your options, and their possible consequences, before you act on any difficulties today. It may seem like just tackling an issue head on is the best way to deal with it, but sometimes just stepping back and waiting, or even removing yourself from the situation entirely is best.
