Rune of the Day: Algiz Reversed

Sometimes it is necessary to fail at something in order to learn where your energy should truly be focused.
Don't take these failures personally, they are learning experiences, and part of your path. When one path closes to you, take a different one, one that looks interesting-you'll eventually get where you're supposed to be.

Tarot Card of the Day: 4 of Swords

You've had some rough times lately, but you have gotten through them.  Now it is time to relax, to recharge yourself.  Don't spend a lot of time focusing on what hasn't gone so well lately, instead spend this time on yourself, and on making plans for the future.  You've undoubtedly learned a lot recently, so use that new found knowledge to plan your next steps.

The Two Together

The pairing of Algiz reversed with the 4 of Swords is telling us that some things in our lives are coming to an end, and probably not the conclusion that we had been hoping for.  We need to not focus on the disappointment of things not working out and instead concentrate on what we have learned.  It's now time to take a break, to just relax for a bit, while we decide where we want to go next.

Rune of the Day: Ansuz Reversed

You may get blindsided by something today, perhaps through missed communication or just plain bad advice.  This may be due partly to Mercury going retrograde, but setbacks and surprises, even unpleasant ones, are a part of life; do your best to learn from it and then let it go.

Tarot Card of the Day: 9 of Wands Reversed

There may be some surprises coming your way today, especially on the work front, possibly leading  you to feel like it is time to just hang it up. Frustration is part of life, knowing how to deal with it is essential in our world. Try to let the unexpected drag you down, view it as an opportunity, look for ways to turn it to your advantage.

The Two Together

Both Ansuz reversed and the 9 of Wands reversed indicate that today will be a day of surprises, of being called upon to shoulder through during difficult times.  We may be the ones expected to find solutions to the unanticipated events going on around us. We must be sure to keep all communications very clear and explicit to avoid creating any new difficulties.

Rune of the Day: Uruz

Have faith in yourself today, you have ability to do whatever needs to be done. Sometimes this involves getting rid of some of the old clutter that has built up around you, to make room for the new and improved. It's rarely easy to let go of what has become familiar, but once it's gone it's amazing how quickly the new becomes familiar and even comfortable.

Tarot Card of the Day: Temperance

Although it's hard in today's world, patience is necessary sometimes. Many things only work if all the necessary components are present, getting one too soon can make the whole thing unworkable. Wait until you have everything you need before making changes, and that everything and everyone involved is ready. Rushing things, or people, often just leads to failure.

The Two Together

Uruz paired with Strength is telling us that we although we have the inner resources to make the changes we want in our lives, we need to wait for the time to be right. Perhaps other commitments that need to be completed before we start something new, or other factors have to fall into place before we begin. Waiting to begin can require even more strength than doing things sometimes. Be patient, we'll eventually get where we are meant to go.

Rune of the Day: Jera

Everyone has enthusiasm for new projects, it's maintaining that enthusiasm that can be difficult. As time goes on, progress usually slows, and it is easy to get caught up in new things.  Keep plugging along on your older goals, lasting success takes time to achieve. With perseverance and patience, you can achieve all your goals.

Tarot Card of the Day: Knight of Swords Reversed

It may be a difficult today to decide which direction you want to go in, or which project you want to work on. Once you decide, you are off and running, but picking that one to focus on, not always so easy. Personally, I like to pick the one that has the most clutter, the one with the most different aspects, as I sort through it I can really see the difference I'm making.

The Two Together

Jera paired with the reversed Knight of Swords is reminding us not to lose sight of those things we have started. There are so many options today, it's easy to lose track of different projects you've begun, or goals you have set. Before you start something new make sure it's something that truly speaks to you, that makes it much less likely that you will lose track of that goal in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Rune of the Day: Othala

Your have a real sense of security and belonging in your life. You've worked hard to get where you are; and now both friends and family turn to you for help, in various forms, from time to time. Remember that as others helped you obtain your goals, it's your turn to help those coming behind you to reach their dreams. Do this willingly, the more positive you put into the world, the more positive comes back to you.

Tarot Card of the Day: Emperor Reversed

You may feel as if your life is out of your control, as if it's what everyone else needs that matters and not what you want. Remember everyone has their own priorities, just keep yours straight and know when to tell someone that you can't do something.  Just because they want you to do something, doesn't mean you have to, or that you have to do it on their time frame.

The Two Together

Othala paired with the Emperor reversed is reminding us to keep balance in our life. We should help others when we can, especially those who are a part of our lives, but not at the cost of our own happiness.  We need to remember where and who we came from, and help those who deserve it, but we are not obligated to help anyone who isn't trying to help themselves.  We aren't responsible for others' happiness and can't get sucked into believing that we are.

Rune of the Day: Mannaz Reversed

Some days it's just not easy to trust anyone of anything-past betrayals are just more in the forefront of your mind for some reason. It can be very easy to get caught up in the shallowness of life, to walk away from anything too difficult, or that requires too much effort; after all, everybody else does it. It’s certainly your choice what you want to do, but before taking the easy way out ask yourself if that’s the way you really want to live your life.

Tarot Card of the Day: 2 of Cups

You may just find that you have more in common with someone than you had previously thought.  Take a little time to talk to some of the people you normally don't pay a lot of attention to: a neighbor you pass on your way in or out, the clerk at the corner store, whoever you may deal with. Everyone has a story to share, you are almost certain to find someone who's story truly resonates with you.

The Two Together

Mannaz reversed paired with the 2 of Cups is reminding us that there is always someone we can connect with, no matter how unlikely it seems. It is often at our darkest times that we find the people we have some of our strongest bonds with. Never give up hope on people in general, just move away from the people that make you want to give up hope.

Rune of the Day: Ehwaz Reversed

Things will seem to be conspiring against you today, there just always seem to be something in your way. The Universe often seems to delay us right when we get close to a goal, even if it's a goal we know we are meant to obtain. Perhaps it is just testing our will and resolve. Accepting these blockages as a part of the process, and doing your best to work around or with them, usually helps them to be resolved sooner.

Tarot Card of the Day: 2 of Wands Reversed

Keep your goals in sight today and remain focused.  It is so easy to get distracted in today's world, there is always something needing our attention.  Just make sure that what you spend time on today is truly worthwhile to you, and not just passing time. It's all to easy to end up wasting the day away without accomplishing anything.

The Two Together

The pairing of Ehwaz and the 2 of Wands both reversed is telling us to be careful of wasting time today.  Although there may be delays in accomplishing some things we want to get done we need to be careful that these delays are not of our own making.  It's so easy to get distracted by little things and lose sight of the big picture. By the time we focus again, new problems seem to have popped up, ones that wouldn't be there if we'd been paying attention.
