Rune of the Day: Hagalaz
Hagalaz is the rune of sudden change, of abrupt transformation. This rune represents changes that are completely beyond your control, those things that simply cannot be anticipated or planned for.
These are the changes that are meant to set us on new paths, to help us alter our lives for the better. Although these challenges may seem like the Universe is ganging up on us, it is actually just giving us a chance to better ourselves.
The more extreme the interruption in your situation, the bigger the difference you need to make in your life. Those big, abrupt disruptions usually only come when we have ignored the smaller ones and been blind to the hints we have been sent.
Know that these challenges have been put before us for a reason, and look for that reason; don't waste time fighting against the change, spend your time making the most of the opportunity.
Tarot Card of the Day: 6 of Pentacles (Reversed)
The 6 of Pentacles reversed represents greed and avarice, even a lack of caring. Frequently envy and jealousy are shown by this card, a definite lack of satisfaction with what one already has.
When this card appears reversed, it is a good time to really slow down and look at all that you have. Generally you will find yourself more focused on what you don't have, and on how to get it, than on the blessings that you do have.
This card is a wake up call almost, to stop and smell the roses, to truly appreciate all that you have to be grateful for, to think about others instead of focusing on yourself.
Today would be a perfect day to do a random act of kindness, to help brighten someone else's day.
The Two Together!
Both of these are saying that a change is needed. The reversed 6 of Pentacles is urging you to get out of your own head, and to appreciate all that life has given you. At the same time, Hagalaz is saying you need to change things, and a wake up call is coming to make this very clear to you.
Try looking at these two as motivation to focus on the good in your life. So much of what happens to us we bring on ourselves by what we put out into the universe. If all we focus on is what we don't have, we're going to keep needing more.
Conversely, if we focus on how much we are blessed with, and are grateful for that, even if the only thing we can find to be grateful for is that we can see, or hear, or touch, or move, then we invite more into our life that we can be grateful for.
Blessings!

Rune of the Day: Uruz
Uruz is a rune of strength, health, and vitality. A rune of inner resources, those that are often tapped after a setback, those that help one come back stronger than ever.
Frequently, that's what this rune is showing; that there is a challenge coming, one that will make you stronger. It is also one, though, that will necessitate you giving up that which has been holding you back: be it an attitude, a belief, or a behavior.
Uruz is telling you that you have the strength to change yourself, to make yourself better, and that this is the time to begin doing so.
Tarot Card of the Day:High Priestess (Reversed)
The High Priestess is the card of intuition, of knowledge both inner and outer. Reversed, however, she generally means jumping to conclusions, lack of foresight, sometimes even willful ignorance.
This card reversed is a warning to really think about your decisions and to even research them a little more than you have. Perhaps reserve judgment on a person or subject until things are more clear.
With Mercury in retrograde for most of the week, this would be a very good time to just sit back and wait without making any decisions or judgments.
The Two Together
Now is a good time to focus only on yourself. Uruz is telling you that you need to change the old so that you can become stronger, while the (Reversed) High Priestess is telling you not to make any major decisions or to form any new opinions on anything substantial right now.
Take this time to really examine your motivation for the things you want to do. Any significant changes you are thinking of making, take the time to really examine why you want to change. Is it because it will make you feel better about you? Or is it because its what you think others expect of you/want you to do/want you to be like?
If you are making decisions purely because you think it will make you, or your life, better and that's the only reason then go ahead. Uruz is guiding you and has let you know you have the inner strength to be successful in these changes.
If you are making changes for any other reason, take a step back. While you may have the strength to make these changes the High Priestess is telling you that your thinking is faulty for why you are making them. Let's be honest, changes we make just for others, rarely last long, not unless they are what we want for ourselves also.
Do what will make you a better, and happier person in the long run. You can't truly make anyone else happy by changing, not unless its a change that also makes you happy, remember that!

Rune of the Day: Daeg
Daeg is a rune of success, of change, of new understanding. Frequently Daeg portends an epiphany that leads one to begin transforming one's life. With this rune the clarity that comes to you is never in doubt, it is a symbol of certainty and illumination.
Frequently, having Daeg in a reading leads to an "Aha!" moment in life, where some basic truths that you have not noticed, intentionally or otherwise, become apparent. These truths almost inevitably lead to a change in attitude, perhaps your own attitude, or that of someone close to you.
Tarot Card of the Day: 7 of Staffs (Reversed)
The 7 of Staffs reversed symbolizes embarrassment, hesitation, and anxiety.
Often these feelings are so strong that they lead to an emotional paralysis that can result in a loss. Perhaps a loss of opportunity or of money.
The 7 of Staffs reversed is the card that makes you not apply for a job that sounds perfect because you know "I'll never get it." Or that makes you not invest in something or start a new business because you are so worried about what will happen.
The Two Together!
Although Daeg and the 7 of Staffs seem contradictory, one meaning success and one meaning hesitation or doubt leading to loss they actually can be seen to complement each other.
Daeg is telling you to seize the day, that new understandings are coming and that they will be beneficial to you. The 7 of Staffs is saying if you stay stuck, if you let fear rule you, then you will lose out on a lot of the good things that may be coming your way.
By choosing not to stay stuck in the energy of the 7 of Staffs, but to have faith in yourself, you give the success and change portended by Daeg a chance to actually happen.

Rune of the Day: Perthro
Perthro is the rune of unexpected gain, of initiation, of blessings from the Divine. It also represents hidden natures, the part of ourselves that we don't show in the day to day world: the mechanic who composes music at nite, the construction worker who plays the cello, the part of us that is the real us.
Today is a day to expect the unexpected and to embrace it, because today's surprises will be good ones. Unexpected blessings, usually coming from the Divine in ways we never would have thought are what Perthro represents.
Tarot Card of the Day: Knight of Swords
The Knight of Swords is a card of bravery and skill, of someone unafraid to confront the challenges they face, someone who knows they are capable of overcoming whatever life may throw at them at a given time.
The energy of this card is very much a can-do type of energy, a let's get this taken care of energy. This card symbolizes a good time to take care of all the projects you have been putting off because they just seemed to daunting.
With the energy of this card today, you can whip right through most of those projects; in fact, you'll be surprised with the ease with which they get done.
The Two Together (BUM-BUM-BUM)
Sorry, saying the two together just seemed to merit some ominous BUM-BUM-BUM type music! lol
Actually Perthro and the Knight of Swords make a pretty interesting pair. The energy and can-do attitude of the Knight combines well with the unexpected gain of Perthro. What comes to mind is tackling a big project like cleaning out an attic or garage and finding an unexpected treasure-a valuable antique, a long-lost family bible, anything that would mean a lot, either financially or emotionally.
Perhaps you may just find something you thought you had lost forever, a favorite piece of jewelery or a treasured photo. Maybe even a lottery ticket you'd set aside and forgotten-check it, today may be the day you find that its worth at least a small amount of money.

NOVEMBER RUNESCOPES
Aries: Hagalaz
Hagalaz is a rune of change, of disruption. For fire sign Aries, change is usually
something to look forward to; however Hagalaz frequently represents radical
disruption, things going beyond one’s control.
This is also almost always unexpected change, not planned change.
However, these changes do lead to long term rewards as a
rule. Although unexpected and shocking,
such as losing a job, in time the true purpose of this upset comes clear. Losing a job opens you to the possibility of
a better job, or starting in a new field, one you find yourself happier
in. The end of a relationship opens you
to a new relationship, perhaps with your life’s partner.
Regardless of the challenge presented, Aries zest for
life, optimism and positive energy will see you through. Once the shock has passed this will be just
another challenge for you to overcome!
Taurus: Daeg
Daeg is a rune of success, transformation,
security. For steadfast Taurus, security
and comfort are of paramount importance.
This rune also represents a new understanding, an epiphany if you
will. Although Taureans are slow to
adapt to change, once they see a better way, there is no stopping them in their
quest to adapt that method.
November will be a month of things becoming more clear,
of new understandings; however, these new understandings will bring more
confidence and security to one’s life.
They may also bring financial gain, as Daeg is also a rune of success
and confidence.
Your new found clarity may help you focus on what’s
really important to you in life, thus freeing up time and money for that,
instead of things that have just been helping you mark time.
Gemini: Ehwaz (Reversed)
Ehwaz reversed is a rune of delays, of blockages. For Gemini, with their dislike of routine,
this promises to be a challenging month; one full of roadblocks both those
somewhat anticipated, and those unexpected.
Analytical Gemini, however, can make the best of this by
examining what exactly is holding you back, and why. There are definitely lessons to be learned
this month, and for Gemini the curious and intelligent finding what these
lessons are could be very useful distraction from having to wait for these
blockages to clear up.
Perhaps learning the lessons of these delays will help
them pass faster, though with Mercury in retrograde for a while still, no
promises on that front!
Cancer: Gifu
Gifu is a rune of partnership, of a true give and take,
of love and opportunity. For caring,
emotional Cancer this rune represents someone or something that is willing to
accept you as you are, to deal with you on your own terms.
Remember though, all partnerships include the Divine,
and this one is no different. Use that
Cancer intuition and those wonderful instincts of yours to decide if the
opportunity this rune portends is truly something you want. Cancers love to nurture, to take care of,
and any relationship or opportunity influenced by Gifu is very much quid pro
quo.
There is true give and take with this rune; the other(s)
in the situation will want to give back as much as they get from it. That can be hard for Cancer, with their
caring giving nature to accept.
Leo: Raidho (Reversed)
Raidho reversed is a rune of delay, especially in
personal relationships and other personal matters. Frequently this represents
communication problems, of course with Mercury being retrograde for the
beginning of the month, this is to be expected.
Unfortunately, Raidho reversed just emphasizes this tendency.
Leo, with your jump right in enthusiasm, you may need to
slow down just a bit this month. Just
enough to make sure that others really are along for the ride your taking them
on, and that they are not just caught up in the whirlwind that you can be!
Although taking your time chafes against your
oh-so-energetic nature, doing so right now will save you a lot of headaches and
possibly some heartache later on.
Virgo: Birkana (Reversed)
Birkana reversed us a rune of failure, of stagnation, of
reversals. This rune coming for
detail-oriented Virgo should be considered a warning to be extra vigilant in
all that you do this month.
Setbacks and outright failures may be avoided if enough
care is taken to see the whole picture, not just the details. Virgo’s perfectionism and overly-critical
attitude may contribute to the derailing of relationships, both personal and
professional. With Birkana reversed,
this would be a good month to truly think before you speak or act, to look at
the big picture, not just the part that you know is wrong.
Sometimes compromise, although not really in Virgo’s
nature, really is the better part of valor.
Settling for less than perfection may be preferable to settling for nothing
at all!
Libra: Raidho
Raidho is a rune of communication, of unstoppable
momentum, of all systems go! With this rune
it is the journey that is important, not the destination, it’s everything that
happens on your way to your goal, not the goal itself that you need to focus
on. You will get where you want to be,
whether your journey is an actual trip, or the path of a relationship or even a
business; your momentum will not fail you, but speed is not guaranteed!
For analytical Libra, this rune is a great fit. Concentrate on removing obstacles in your
path, on those experiences, not on where you are actually going, especially
regarding relationships. After all, it
is all the shared experiences that make relationships strong; the challenges
overcome that makes businesses successful.
That’s what forms the close bond that is the goal of relationships, and
the well-oiled inner workings of a successful business, and you can’t get those
things without those shared challenges and triumphs.
Scorpio: Jera
Jera is a rune of success, but not rapid success. Traditionally Jera is the rune of harvest, of
the fertile season, most projects begun under Jera take most, or all, of a year
to come to fruition. Jera portends a
positive outcome, a reaping of well-earned rewards.
For take-charge Scorpio slow success can be
challenging. Instinctive, intuitive
Scorpio knows when things are going well and expects to see results, Jera in
November is here to give you a lesson in patience. The rewards you seek will come your way, just
not on your timetable.
Look for the patterns that you see this month Scorpio,
Jera with its historical ties to the harvest is a rune of patterns-sow,
nurture, reap. Look for the patterns in
your project, see what you can learn from them; perhaps something that you
truly need to know.
Sagittarius: Tir
Tir is a rune of necessary sacrifice, of giving up what
is holding you back, of looking at the whole situation. Tir represents honor, victory, justice and
the law. It may not represent the
outcome that would be your ideal, but it is the outcome that is best for ALL
concerned.
For adventure and travel loving Sagittarius, this rune
is truly applicable. Sagittarians love
to travel and roam, leaving friends and family behind to satisfy their
wanderlust. They will always return,
they just don’t want to be held back from doing what makes them happy. Tir embraces this attitude, let go of what
holds you back, do what is right for you.
If I had to pick a rune to symbolize Sagittarius it
would probably be Tir; they are both big-picture energies.
Capricorn: Eihwaz
Eihwaz is a rune of protection, of defense, of bad
situations coming to an end. However,
for Eihwaz to work protectively, one must do what is right when the whole
situation is considered, not just what is right for one’s self.
For Capricorn this may require a bit of thought; as
hard-working and responsible as you are, Capricorns do have a tendency to use
whoever and whatever is available to reach their goals. You must temper your determination with
common sense and perhaps some extra compassion this month.
Although Capricorns are not fond of change, know that
the changes coming this month are beneficial, and for your own protection. Know also that flexibility is sometimes
required to do the right thing, and remember flexibility does not equal
weakness!
Aquarius: Uruz
Uruz is the rune of strength, health, and vitality. It is often a rune of new beginnings with a
new energy, almost a new lease on life.
Sometimes these new beginnings require a loss of the old way of doing
things, or of old things you have been clinging to for too long.
For Aquarius, who is always eager to try the next new
thing, this rune is just a reminder, that we often must shed the old before we
can put on the new. For this month, Uruz
is giving you the energy to make some real positive changes in your life,
possibly in a more off-beat area.
Aquarians are always learning, always stretching the
boundaries, this month the energy of Uruz is with you, just reminding you to
discard that which no longer works for you, before you begin the next
exploration.
Pisces: Algiz
Algiz is a rune of caution, of temperance, of
protection. Look at new opportunities or
challenges carefully and analytically, they may bring some unwanted influences
into your life. They may be interesting
enough that you are willing to accept the drawbacks of them, that is fine-it’s
your choice, just be careful that you know what you are getting into.
Overly agreeable Pisces really needs to take this
message to heart. Algiz is a rune of
protection, but more than that it’s a rune of temperance. It will warn you that you should look before
you leap, but it won’t stop you from leaping if the water is only 3 inches
deep. As good as the intuition and
instincts of most Pisceans are; this is a good month to really look at a
situation analytically before committing to things.
Rune of the Day: Ehwaz
Ehwaz is a rune of motion, of progress, a very dynamic energy. It's a rune of new attitudes, of changes, of self-transformation. This is truly a great rune for the energy of the Pagan new year that started on Thursday.
Today is a day of progress, of getting things done, of starting the process of reinventing yourself. This can be a change either external (new haircut, new diet or exercise regimen) or internal with a new attitude. It can also reflect a change in your environment, a move, a redecoration, even just fall cleaning that makes things feel newly energized.
Today would be a wonderful day to start something new, or to tackle that project that you've been putting off!
Tarot Card of the Day: The Sun
The Sun is a card of satisfaction, of accomplishment of things going well. The sun reflects our joy in the simple things in life, it shows true happiness, that which can only be found within ourselves not without.
This card is telling us to just enjoy life as it comes, to really count our blessings and to be grateful for, and aware of, what we do have in our lives today. Tomorrow is soon enough to worry about your problems, for today, relax and enjoy!

Rune of the Day: Tir
Tir is the rune of honor, of sacrifice, of looking at the big picture. Occasionally, it represents letting go of what is holding us back, no matter how painful or scary that may be.
Often when Tir appears it is necessary to look hard at where we are, where we want to be, and why we are not there. Many times it is our own fear of trying something new, or of totally committing to a new path that holds us back; other times there is something tangible: a bad relationship, a job with no future, even a car or home that costs more to maintain than it is worth.
Know that when Tir appears it is time to lose what is holding us back, to let go of the fear, to make the total commitment, to have the courage to do what will make you happy in the long run, not just avoid some unpleasantness in the present.
Tarot Card of the Day: Queen of Cups
The Queen of Cups is a card of family, friendship and loving relationships. She represents fairness, love, and admiration. Frequently the card represents a person with these qualities, but occasionally it represents the energy of a situation.
In either case, this is definitely a positive card, a card of contenment. When this card appears know that others are dealing with you honestly, that no one is looking out for just themselves. Cooperation and willing compromise are some of the strongest energies with this card today.
Tir and the Queen of Cups Together:
These two together feel almost synergistic to me. (I really hope synergistic is a word!)lol The energy of the Queen is very much saying that the Universe is there to support whatever choice Tir is pushing you to make.
Whether it is ending a situation, relationship, friendship, whatever that is holding you back, or even draining you, or if its merely making a real commitment to something new, now is the time that the Universe is saying 'Go ahead do it'!
With the Wiccan year having just begun, this fits right in with making new starts, making this a better year, even making resolutions if that helps you accomplish things.
I listed some of my goals for the new year yesterday. What are some of your goals for this year?
