Rune of the Day: Lagaz

Lagaz is a rune of the mind: empathy, compassion, imagination, intuition and premonitions.

This rune appears when we need to listen to our subconscious and the messages it is sending to us. These messages may involve how we deal with others, or how we view ourselves.  

Often, the messages come through our imagination, and are expressed in our creative endeavors or in our dreams.  These messages help us revitalize or realign our lives. 

Lagaz is telling us that now is a time to pay particular attention to the messages from our subconscious: our dreams, our intuitions, and our inspirations.  They just might lead us to something great. 

Tarot Card of the Day: 8 of Pentacles

The 8 of Pentacles is a card of apprenticeship, of learning and hard work, of skill and craftsmanship.

This card is often drawn when one is thinking of changing careers, or taking up a new hobby/interest. 

With this card know that your hard work will pay off, although you have much to learn, you will eventually be well rewarded for taking the time to learn it. 

The energy of this card is a great boost if you are making some changes for the new year-its a definite plus to have this to help with any resolutions you may have made. 

The Two Together: 

Lagaz speaks of listening to our intuition, while the 8 of Pentacles encourages us, telling us that it is time to learn something new. 

Today is the day to start learning about something that has intrigued us for a while, something that our subconscious keeps putting front and center in our minds.  

Let's start small, with just learning; maybe we will learn enough to know that we want to work regularly in this new area.  With the 8 of Pentacles, it's certainly possible that we may find a new way to make a living.
