Tir is a rune of courage, victory, of honor and self-sacrifice. This rune also represents balance, law and
justice. When this rune appears for you,
know that everything will work out fairly on a large scale, though it may not
seem so to us on a more personal level.
Often Tir represents the need to make a sacrifice, to give up that
which is holding us back, or to share whatever blessings we may have in our
lives. Doing this helps us to grow, to
reach our full potential, and thus to be closer to the Divine.
Look for ways to help others today; remember even our small gestures
are returned to us three fold. Isn't it
better to have smiles returned than grimaces?
Friendship rather than snobbery?
Help rather than neglect?
Tarot Card of the Day: 3 of Cups
The 3 of Cups is a card of fulfillment, attainment of a goal, of a problem solved. In relationships, it often indicates a moving on to the next level, a more committed relationship.
Often, this card indicates new beginnings. One goal has been accomplished, it's time to make that a part of your life. Cups usually refer to family and relationships; so it may be time to just enjoy the bonding you have accomplished with a family member, or the commitment of a relationship advancing to a more serious stage.
Just remember that life is not stagnant, it is ever-changing. Now that one goal is accomplished, enjoy it, accept it as part of your life, but know that new goals are on the horizon to be worked towards.
The Two Together
Tir and the 3 of Cups both speak of change; Tir speaks more of things that are given up or sacrificed in change, while the 3 of Cups refers to accepting the change.
All change involves sacrifice, some sacrifice is just easier than others: giving up being unemployed for a good job, moving to a better location, ending a bad relationship. Some change is harder: losing a job, being evicted, being broken up with.
The key is to remember that no change is final. Losing a job can lead to finding a great new one, getting dumped leaves you available to meet the right person. When good changes happen-finding that good job or the right person, we need to take the time to enjoy what we have, but we can't become stagnant. When we start taking what we have for granted, and not appreciating it and working to keep it, that is when we risk losing it.
Appreciate what you have, if you can't see the good in something that's happened, look for the opportunities that it has opened up to you. There truly is a plus for every minus, we just have to find it!
