Rune of the Day: Perthro

Perthro is a rune of unexpected gain, of mysteries, of blessings from the Divine.  This rune represents that in our world which is hidden, the secret nature of things.

This rune usually shows up in a reading when good luck is on its way to you.  It often represents unexpected good fortune, and actually just the unexpected in general.

These blessings usually come in unanticipated ways.  It won't be the raise you've been waiting for, it will be a few dollars won on the lottery ticket you forgot about, or a gift from a relative you haven't heard from in ages.

When Perthro appears, expect to be pleasantly surprised, or perhaps intrigued.  Perthro does also represent all the mysterious ways we are interconnected, and the hidden nature of things.

Tarot Card of the Day: The Moon

The Moon is a card of deception, including of oneself.  It represents false faces and false friends, ulterior motives and superficiality.

This card appears usually as a warning to let one know that all is not as it seems.  Very often, if we look at our relationships objectively, we can see the deception.  People's actions speak much louder than their words if we only pay attention.

Sometimes it is ourselves we are deceiving, such as when we make excuses for others rather than admitting that their behavior is wrong.  Taking a long cold look at our relationships, and acknowledging where there are problems can often save us a lot of heartbreak.

The Two Together:

Perthro indicates good fortune on the way, while The Moon indicates deception around us.

This is not really as contradictory as it seems as Perthro's good fortune is usually of the more concrete variety, such as winnings in games of chance.  The Moon appearing with Perthro is very probably a warning that some people may have ulterior motives, perhaps regarding your good fortune.

Just be aware of the actions of others, more than their words.  That is what really tells you how they feel.

Blessings!
