Pagan Blog Project A is for Amazonite

Amazonite is a somewhat brittle green-blue form of feldspar, named for the Amazon River.  Ironically, it is not found anywhere near the Amazon River! lol  

It is found in Russia, Colorado and Virginia, in Madagascar and in Brazil, but not near the Amazon. 

Magickally, it helps us access and use the Universal energy for self healing and improvement.  This is a very conductive stone, you can generally feel the energy flowing through it as soon as you pick it up. 

Amazonite's energy is very grounding, it's excellent for helping to release anger and/or frustration.  Just holding a piece of it for a few minutes after a stressful experience helps to even out your mood. 

It's a very soothing crystal, but one that also helps us to expand our perspective.  Holding or wearing amazonite enables us to see all the sides of a situation, and to combine our intuition with all the information we receive.  By accessing our intuition we are better able to filter the information we receive and make better decisions. 

 

It helps us to tap into and manifest Universal love, it helps heal emotional damage, and smooth out negative emotions.  

Obviously, this can be helpful to keep with you all the time, and amazonite is made into some amazing jewelry despite being somewhat fragile. 

On a healing level the stone is known to help protect us from electromagnetic pollution: microwave and cell phone emanations for example.  

It's also very useful in the balancing and repair of calcium disorders, and by extension, osteoporosis and tooth decay.  It is known to help balance the metabolism, especially the deficiencies creating these conditions. 

Amazonite also works very well with most of the upper body chakras, specifically the third eye, heart, and throat chakras. 

For the heart and throat chakras this stone helps to enable open, honest communication in a loving way.  It also helps activate the third eye chakra and encourages psychic visions. 

Some amazonite jewelry is definitely in my future, as I have both osteoporosis and some genetic dental issues.  And since i deal with the public at my full time job, the soothing properties of this stone will be very helpful!
