Rune of the Day: BEORK

Beork is a rune of growth, rebirth, fertility and creativity, maternity and nurturing.

That makes today a perfect day to try something new: take a different route to work or home from work, try a new restaurant or coffee shop, just do something to break the routine.

It's also a good day to try something new creatively: painting, drawing, building, cooking, decorating, just make something new. Or, take something you already have and redo it in a way that makes you happy-new paint, different decorations, whatever makes it look fresh and new to you.

Just a small change in your routine or in your surroundings keeps your outlook more positive and helps you not fall into a rut of day to day living. 

Tarot Card of the Day: 10 OF SWORDS REVERSED

The 10 of Swords reversed is a card of perception, of taking things too much to heart, of being overly dramatic.

Everything may seem a bit larger than life today, and your emotions could be running just a bit wild.  A spilled glass of milk might even feel like the end of the world.

Take some time to get some perspective: go for a walk, read a book, watch a favorite movie.  Just get out of your own head for a bit, take some time for yourself.  If after that, everything still feels like the end of the world, go back to bed and wait for tomorrow-things will seem much brighter then! 

The Two Together

Beork and the 10 of Swords both reference a need to change your outlook, at least for today.  We all have days where it seems everything is going wrong, and that the fates are against us.  Today is one of those days. 

Do something different, something you normally just don't take the time to do for yourself.  You'll be amazed how much it can change your perspective, and get you thinking in new directions.  Of course, the more new directions you think in, the more you grow as a person.
