Rune of the Day: Thurisaz

 

 

Take some time today to work on yourself, both inside and out. You can't really move on in this life until you've let go of what is holding you back from your past. Take a look at your life, accept what you have done, give it your blessing as it was the best you could do at that time and then let it go. When you've released that part of your past, do something nice for yourself,  something to make you feel as special as you really are.

Sometimes the Universe steps in to clear things out of our lives, things that no longer serve us, things that are holding us back. Occasionally this clearing is done very abruptly. It may feel as  though your world is being turned upside down today, and it is-it is being cleared out like a purse being emptied. What remains at the end of the day is that which is still helpful and beneficial for you.

The Two Together

 

The pairing of Thurisaz with the Tower is telling us that while the Universe will rid us of the external things holding us back, we must concentrate on ridding ourselves of the internal things holding us back.  Although we may have done things that we now would never do, we need to accept that what we've done and endured in our past has made us who we are. We can let those things go with thanks, and the knowledge that we never have to be in that place again.
