Rune of the Day: Algiz
There are lots of new influences appearing in our lives right now: new
people, new opportunities, new challenges. Remember to treat them all with
respect, courtesy, and most especially caution. Not everything is what it
seems, and we really need to be aware of what influences we may be welcoming
into our lives right now. Everyone deserves respect, but not everyone is a good
fit for our own energies; there is nothing wrong keeping your distance from
that which might drag you down.
Tarot Card of the Day: Ace of Swords
Consider some new ideas today, perhaps look at some old problems from a
different perspective. We only grow by change, and we can’t change if we keep
ourselves locked into a given mindset, no matter how comfortable that may feel.
We don’t have to change our values and beliefs, just be open to learning about understanding
the perspectives of others.
The Two Together
Algiz paired with the Ace of Swords is telling us that we need to open our
minds, to try new things, meet new people, and learn about different cultures
or viewpoints. Algiz is just cautioning us that although we need to acknowledge
and be courteous of all points of view, we do not need to accept those which we
don’t feel will help us reach our highest potential. Remember, the highest and
best that each person can reach in this lifetime is very different from any
other person.
