Rune of the Day: URUZ

Uruz is a rune of strength, of health and positive growth, sometimes of loss that is opportunity in disguise.

Look for the hidden opportunities in life today. You're already on the right path, and making real progress, so take the time to look at what might not be readily apparent to you.

Often with Uruz, something that looks (and feels!) like a setback is actually the opening you need to make great strides.  So take any setbacks today in stride, keep your eyes open, and you will be amazed at how many opportunities are around you.  They’ve always been there; you’ve just been too focused on your plan to see them. 

JANUARY 23RD 3 OF SWORDS REVERSED

The 3 of Swords Reversed is a card of exaggeration, of overreacting, basically of being a drama queen. 

We need to keep things in perspective today, to not get carried away by our first reaction.  Take the time to think of what any news you get today really means, in both the short and long term.

Keeping the big picture in mind, helps us deal with setbacks, some things go wrong as time goes on.  As long as we are making forward progress, the setbacks may just be learning experiences or character builders.

The Two Together

Both Uruz and the reversed 3 of Swords are telling us to keep things in perspective today, to look at the big picture.  Although something may look like a setback right now, in the long run it may be one of the best things that ever happened to us. 

We usually have to lose something we’re comfortable with, to move on to something bigger and/or better: ending a relationship to find the right person, leaving one job to work at a better one, and so on. That’s what today is for, looking for the new opportunities coming our way amidst any setbacks.
