Monday, January 6th DAEG

Daeg is a rune of dramatic change, of epiphany, of clarity and transformation.

As yesterday's rune was Hagall, a rune of delay that teaches us a lesson, it’s a pretty good bet that we have at least started to figure out our lesson.

Today's a day when things change rapidly for us, when we see things with new eyes and adjust our lives accordingly.  Some of these changes will be big, some will be small, but all will be significant for us in the long run.

Tarot Card of the Day: The Emperor

The Emperor is a card of organization, of efficiency, of a sense of responsibility.

This is the person who wants to teach someone to fish, rather than giving them a fish; someone who sees the big picture and wants to make things better for everyone.

Today, we need to keep the long term results of our actions and decisions in mind.  What we do will resonate with us into the future, possibly for the rest of our lives, so it is essential to look for a long term solution to our problems, not just a quick fix.

The Two Together

Daeg signifies rapid change for us, while the Emperor is letting us know that we cannot get carried away by change.  We must take the time to consider the long term effects of any changes we make now.

We need to look for the long-term solution today, and not let the rapid change energy of Daeg entice us into going for the quick fix.  Often the long-range plan can be painful in the immediate future, but the rewards are well worth the sacrifice.

Blessings!
