Rune of the Day: Eihwaz

Eihwaz is a rune of endings, of endurance, but most importantly of protection.  This rune appears when things are going to be changing in your life.  These changes are generally ones that help you grow, but in order for that growth to happen it is very important that you do what is right in the situation.

Eihwaz requires you to be flexible and to 'roll with the punches', to basically hang tough and to know that you will come out of this situation intact, perhaps changed, but nonetheless, intact.

The protection of this rune is not necessarily from immediate physical danger, though that is an element of it also; but more of a spiritual protection.  It is a way of your guides saying that although this situation may not be ending on your terms, it is ending for your own good.  Now it is up to you to do the right thing by everyone involved, then to learn what you can from what has happened and to use that knowledge in your future spiritual growth.

Tarot Card of the Day:5 of Swords

The 5 of Swords is a card of battle, of both conquest and defeat, of infamy and dishonor.  This card often means winning the battle, but losing the war.

When this card appears you really need to look at yourself and your conduct.  Do you do whatever it takes to win, regardless of the cost?  This card is a caution against such behavior.  It is a reminder that all of our actions, both good and bad, have consequences.

Examine your motives, your methods, and your results.  Is what you have gained and/or accomplished worth the price you have paid for it? Financially? Emotionally? Morally?  If not, now is a great time to do some soul-searching and possibly reevaluate your priorities.

Although the 5 of Swords is often seen as a negative card, if it is used as a wake-up call, and then as an impetus for change and self-betterment, then that negative can be turned into a positive.
