Rune of The Day: Ing

Ing is a rune of fertility and potency, of new beginnings and of creativity.  Obviously this rune signifies a great time to start a new venture or project.  It also indicates old projects finally coming to fruition.

For anyone trying to create anything, this rune signifies you may very soon achieve success.   Whether you are creating something tangible such as a piece of furniture or item of clothing, something living-a baby or a new plant, or something more intangible-a new outlook on life or closer connection with the Divine you should soon see very positive results.

Use this energy to create something you've always wanted, even if its something as simple painting a room a different color, now is the time to make the changes you've always wanted to make.

Tarot Card of The Day: 5 of Swords

The 5 of Swords is a card of conflict, of struggle, sometimes of the ruin of others.  But all conflict, all struggle tends to either diminish or strengthen those fighting it, depending on how they view the conflict.

That is what this card is saying today, all life is a struggle, there is always conflict even if its only within ourselves.  We can either rail against this conflict or we can learn from it, grow from it, and be strengthened by it.

Remember, conflict is usually the way the Divine teaches us the lessons we haven't learned on our own.  It is also one of karma's ways of helping us atone for past wrongs.  By viewing it as a learning opportunity or challenge instead of a difficulty we can overcome it more quickly, more surely, and more permanently!

The Two Together:

Ing and the 5 of Swords do seem to be at odds with each other at first glance.  But not so much if you really think on the meanings with an open mind.  The struggles of the 5 of Swords can lead to the fruition and accomplishment of Ing.

One usually has to struggle to achieve or create something, Ing is merely showing that the struggle will be worthwhile, that you will achieve what it is you are fighting for.

Conversely, the 5 of Swords is pointing out that all achievement comes with some kind of cost, and usually through at least some small amount of struggle.

Let's be honest though, if creating things were that easy, then it wouldn't be the great gift that it is when we do create something!

Blessings!
