Rune of the Day: Nied

Nied is a rune of obstacles, of constraint, of learning how to make the best of any situation.  When this challenging rune appears we can be sure that things will not be going smoothly.  There will be obstacles in our path, perhaps ones we have inadvertently created ourselves, perhaps those created by others, or perhaps just those that life puts in your path.

Nied appears to teach us to deal with constraints, to learn to make the best of what we have.  It is a rune that shows us we should appreciate what we have in life, that there are some things you simply have to accept. It is necessary to avoid getting bogged down in despair or you will remain there forever. The sooner we accept the limitations Nied has imposed on us, the sooner those limitations will cease to bother us, and at that point, they are no longer obstacles for us.

Tarot Card of the Day: 10 of Cups

The 10 of Cups is a card of happiness, of fulfillment, of contentment and joy, especially concerning relationships and family.  Personally I refer to this as the happy family card.   This card shows up when things are going well in all your relationships, both family and friends.

Take this time to really enjoy your life and the people you have around you.  You have a place of solace and people that love and support you.  That is absolutely priceless, especially in today's fast-paced world.  Spend some time enjoying your blessings.

The Two Together:

Nied appearing on the same day as the 10 of Cups clearly is emphasizing the importance of home and hearth.  There may be all kinds of problems to deal with in your day to day life, but home is still somewhere you can go for sanctuary, for peace, to just relax.

With the 10 of Cups representing a happy home and hearth, you know that you have someplace welcoming to go to help you destress from everyday life.  Someplace where people love and care about you and someplace you can find the inner wisdom and strength to deal with whatever obstacles Nied is indicating is in your way.

Blessings!
