Rune of the Day: Uruz (Reversed)

Uruz reversed is a rune of missed opportunities, of bad luck, often of a minor illness. This is not a rune indicative of any major problems coming your way, more an omen of things just not going well.  This does not mean that you have to sit back and wait to see what misfortune comes your way.

Consider this rune as a warning that things may not go well, and prepare for that.  Make sure there is enough gas in the car so you don't run out, have a few extra dollars on you for emergencies, take a little extra care of yourself so you don't get run down.

Often just knowing that things may go badly, and preparing in case they do, can turn a real headache into a minor inconvenience such as being a few minutes late because you topped off the gas tank as opposed to actually running out of gas.

Tarot Card of the Day: The Moon

The Moon is a card of deception, of disillusionment, sometimes even of danger.  She represents bad influences, superficiality, and unknown enemies.

When the Moon appears it is time to really look at the people you have around you.  Most times people deceive others because it gets them something they want: money, sex and fear are probably the most common causes of deception.  Take a good look at the people you spend time with, both personally and professionally.  Make sure that all their actions are consistent with their words.  If someone is frequently saying one thing but doing something rather different perhaps they are not worth your trust.

We can't stop other people from lying to us, but we can minimize or avoid any damage they may do if we match actions to words.  Especially when it comes to money and finances be very aware: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

The Two Together:

Uruz reversed and the Moon are very clearly saying that we need to use some caution today.  Be prepared for a few bumps in the road, and don't take things at face value.

The Moon by itself can mean some major problems on the way, tempered by reversed Uruz, these difficulties will probably be more manageable in size and inconvenience.  But as always, if the awareness of potential difficulties causes us to change our behavior in some way, these difficulties can often be avoided.  So much of what happens in our lives can be changed if we are willing to make that effort.

Blessings!
