Rune of the Day: Eolh

Eolh is a rune of temperance and courtesy, of caution and protection, of a need to take care.

Because Eolh is primarily a rune of protection, it is merely warning you to be careful about what influences you let into your life, no matter how prettily they may be wrapped.

Be aware of what is happening around you, but treat everyone involved with courtesy.  Temperance is key with this rune: just because something, or someone, is not right for you, is no reason to treat them disrespectfully.  There may very well still be lessons to be learned.

Just because we don't want certain influences in our life, doesn't mean we can't learn from those same influences.  Often, its observation that teaches us the things to avoid, rather than personal experience.

Tarot Card of the Day: 7 of Staffs

The 7 of Staffs is a card of success, of overcoming incredible odds, of reaching a goal, of victory.

This card is drawn when we have our goal in sight and just need that one last push to succeed.  That last bit of encouragement, that no matter how bad the outcome looks, we can reach our goal.

Today is a day that you can accomplish what you put your mind to, that those things you thought would never happen suddenly become not just possible, but likely.

The Two Together:

Eolh and the 7 of Staffs are warning us that although we can accomplish anything we set our minds to, we need to be careful how we do it.

Sometimes the cost of getting something is simply not worth the long term price we pay.  We absolutely should go after our dreams,  we just need to use caution in how we get them.

It can be easy to get caught up in the chase, in the near victory, and to do things we later regret.   Take the time today to consider the long term consequences of your actions, not just the immediate rewards that will be gained.

Blessings!
