Rune of the Day: Gifu

Gifu is a rune of partnership, of equal give and take, of karmic union, of sacrifice and obligation.

This rune reminds us that for every action there is an an equal and opposite reaction, even if it is a karmic reaction that takes a lifetime or two to manifest.

Good or bad, our actions in this lifetime will be returned to us, perhaps in this lifetime, perhaps in another.  This is our partnership with the Divine, and it is something Gifu is drawn to remind us of.

Tarot Card of the Day: 9 of Cups Reversed

The 9 of Cups reversed is a card of mistakes, opposition, imperfection, often a loss of material wealth.

This card signifies that all is not always as it seems, that things may appear much brighter than they are.  Use this card as a warning, take a close look at what is happening around you, and at what you have been doing.

Make sure that you are seeing the situation clearly, and from the point of view of others in the situation, not just from your own perspective.  Sometimes, putting yourself in another's shoes can open up a whole new way of looking at a situation.

Often, this is all that is needed, so that changes can be made to keep things going well, to stop them from going off track.

The Two Together:

Gifu and the 9 of Cups reversed both encourage us to look at the point of view of others in any given situation.  They are both reminding us that we are not in this life alone, that our actions affect others, as their actions affect us.

Keep this in mind today, not just as to how other's affect us, but also why they do what they do.  If we can understand another's motivation, we can much more easily reach an understanding and/or compromise with them.

Blessings!
