Rune of the Day: Thurisaz Reversed

Thurisaz reversed is a rune of rapid developments, often leading to hasty decisions that are soon regretted.  It's a rune of delayed or unpleasant travel, and of obstacles.

Often these are obstacles created by ego, by being unwilling to step aside and let others help or even lead.  It generally requires both humility and courage to overcome the hurdles in one's way now.

This is a rune that frequently indicates the need to humble oneself, to ask for help, and to risk rejection in order to undo whatever damage has been done, or to tear down the obstacles that have been created.

Reach out to those who can help, after all we are all in this world together.  Only by helping each other, and accepting help from each other, can we truly progress.

Tarot Card of the Day: 5 of Cups

The 5 of Cups is a card of regret, of partnerships lacking, of superficial relationships-marriage without love, friendship without meaning.

This card often represents relationships that one has moved past but hasn't left yet, the ones that we only maintain because its easier than ending them.

The 5 of Cups is telling us its time to move on.  If a relationship is no longer serving us, if it is just an unwillingness to change that keeps us connected, then it is time to move on.

There is too much to do in life, too much to enjoy, too many new people out there to meet, to keep us tied to someone  who we have moved past.

Change is almost always difficult, but sometimes it is necessary, and this card appeared today, to let us know its time to make some changes.

The Two Together:

Thurisaz reversed and the 5 of Cups each indicate that today will be a day of challenges.  A day in which it is necessary to own up to our mistakes and shortcomings.  A day to try to repair some of the damage we have done, both to ourselves and to others.

On the positive side, as we recognize the mistakes we have made, and acknowledge the things we have held on to just because it was easier than letting them go, we begin to grow, and to move on.

That's what today is for, a day of moving on, of clearing out that which no longer serves us, of acknowledging our mistakes and asking for help in fixing them.

Do this with the knowledge that it is helping us to clear our path, so that we can better reach our potential.  As long as we learn from our mistakes, we can go forward knowing that we are becoming better people.

Blessings!
