Rune of the Day: Gifu

Gifu is a rune of partnerships, of give and take, of equal relationships, even of karmic union.  This rune is drawn when you are in a situation that requires even give and take. One sided relationships, silent partnerships, these are not things to enter into at this time.

This rune appears to let you know that relationships and partnerships need to be kept equal right now.  They will not last if they are in any way one-sided.  If one person is not holding up their end right now, things are bound to turn out badly.  Both people entered the relationship knowing what was expected of them, not living up to this will cause the union to end, usually with negative results.

Tarot Card of the Day: The Hanged Man (Reversed)

The Hanged Man reversed is a card of lack of caring, of unwillingness to change, of selfishness and of being self-centered.

When this card appears it indicates that we are focusing too much on ourselves, and not in a good way.  Often this card represents us when we are feeling sorry for ourselves, when we are unhappy with our situation in life but unwilling to do anything to change it.

The reversed Hanged Man is all about adjusting attitude.   Our lives will never magically become what we want them to be.  We have to strive to become the person we want, to live the life we want.  This card is a reminder that whining about our situation is not going to change it.

We should take a good look at our lives and think of how we can change them to better serve us.  We need to decide where we want to go in life and how to get there.  Then we have to take the first steps on our new path so that we can reach our destination.

The Two Together:

Gifu paired with the reversed Hanged Man is telling us that we need to do our share in any dealings with others today.

We cannot expect them to just know what we want or expect from them; no one can live up to our expectations if they don't know what they are.

Today is a day to be very clear in all dealings about what is wanted.  Its also a good time to take a realistic look at what we presume others will do for us, and to make sure that we are holding up our end of the bargain.

We are responsible for our own situation, so it is up to us to change it if we are not happy with it.  Others may help, but we have to make the effort.   After all, no one else can make us happy, that is something we must find within ourselves.

Blessings!
