Rune of the Day: Jera

Jera is a rune of well earned rewards, of eventual fruition, of patience being essential to a good outcome.  In today's instant gratification world we often forget that many things in life take time to complete.  Crops take several months to grow, IRAs many years to mature, diets many weeks or months to produce the desired result.

This rune shows up when we need a reminder of that.  Impatience is so common today that we often must be reminded that some truly good things in life take time.  Trying to force results before they have been earned will only result in frustration and failure.

Whether it is a crash diet or a get rich quick scheme, going for instant results almost always ends up in you being worse off than you were to start with.  So heed Jera and remember that patience is essential in most truly important things.

Tarot Card of the Day: King of Swords

The King of Swords is a card of strong, masculine energy, of being analytical, of determination and authority.

He usually appears either when you are dealing with someone with those attributes, or when you need to act in that manner yourself.
Although you have many things you want to accomplish, it is necessary to prioritize and pick a few to focus on first.  This is a card of decision making first and foremost.

Analyze the risks, think things through, then make a decision and stick to it.  You'll be amazed at how quickly and easily things can get done if you do this.

The Two Together

Jera paired with the King of Swords is telling us that it is time to do something.  We can't just sit around waiting and hoping that things will change for us.

We have to decide what we want out of life and to go for it.  We will eventually reach our goals, it will take time, but we will get there.

However, before that happens we have to take the first steps, and keep working towards them.  We won't reach our goals overnight, but we will reach them!
