Rune of the Day: Isa

Isa is a rune of enforced standstill, of stasis, of imposed rest and backpedaling.

This rune appears when it is necessary to stop what one is doing.  Often trying to push one's way through such a blockage will lead to illness, or to something going so wrong that there is nothing to be done to fix it.  For example, driving a flat tire just to the gas station-the rim ends up so damage that needs to be replaced also.

When Isa is drawn it is never a good idea to try anything new, it is time to merely maintain the status quo.  Remember that there are forces at work of which we may not be aware.

Wait for things to change without pushing them along; when that happens the standstill required by Isa will have passed, and it will again be time for action.

Tarot Card of the Day: Temperance

Temperance is a card of moderation, patience, cooperation and compromise.

This card represents success, sometimes even perfection, but it is success and perfection obtained through compromise and alteration, not those of a single vision.

Patience, and willingness to compromise are essential today.  We may not get exactly what we want today, but by being willing to bend, we will get something that is probably better, or at least just as good.

The Two Together:

Isa and Temperance both speak of not getting exactly what we want, when we want it.  They also remind us that it is often foolish to try to force things to fit our preconceived ideals.

Isa warns us that insisting on what we want will just set us back further: while Temperance is the light at the end of the tunnel; telling us that if we just compromise, if we bend a little, we will end up with something better than we had originally envisioned.

Keep an open mind today, and be surprised at what the Universe will bring your way!

Blessings!
