DECEMBER RUNESCOPES

ARIES: LAGAZ (REVERSED)

Lagaz reversed is a rune of hesitation, of fear, of overthinking, basically a rune of indecision.   This rune also frequently indicates someone second guessing their intuition, or outright ignoring it.

For fearless, decisive, impulsive Aries, this is almost the complete opposite of their true nature.  Aries is likely to feel out of sorts quite a bit this month, as if they have lost their way.  Instead of flying by the seat of their pants, Aries this month will be overthinking everything, unsure of which direction to take.

Aries' naturally energetic personality will resurface by the end of the month, when their frustration peaks and they make a decision just for the sake of doing something.  At this point  their irrepressible nature and love of life will return.

TAURUS: TIR

Tir is a rune of noble sacrifice, of doing without for the greater good.  It is a rune of looking at the big picture and doing what is best for all.

Practical, determined Taurus, who plans everything so carefully can easily fall into the self sacrificing energy of Tir if it looks like taking on extra work, or doing without something will solve the problem.

Taureans are known to be overly tolerant, and must watch themselves when being influenced by Tir's energy to make sure they are not the only one making sacrifices.  Its all well and good to cut back if needed, or to pick up some extra work, but not if you are the only one doing it.

GEMINI: ANSUZ

Ansuz is a rune of communication, of making new connections, new paths, even new goals.  Inspiration comes easily when Ansuz's energy is present, largely because the open communication it encourages opens up new ways of thinking.

For always curious Gemini, with their native intelligence and love of knowledge Ansuz is a perfect fit.  The energy of this rune emphasizes Gemini's natural curiosity and will provide lots of inspiration this month.

Expect to be inspired to try several new things this month and to have several new ideas including new ways to deal with old problems.

CANCER: ING

Ing is a rune of fertility and prosperity, of growth, new beginnings, and fruition.  It often indicates potency, creation, an intense energy.

Overly sensitive, instinctive Cancer may be put a little off balance by this intense energy, but soon their natural responsive nature will take over and they will go with the flow.

Cancer can expect this to be a month of getting things done, of new projects started, of accomplishment.  There may even be a new relationship starting this month for those Cancers looking for one.

LEO: URUZ

Uruz is a rune of health and well-being, of strength, vitality and inner resources. This is also a rune of faith in oneself and one's beliefs.

Energetic, enthusiastic Leo will take the energy of Uruz and run with it.  With the added vigor of this rune and Leo's usual self-confidence they will be virtually unstoppable this month.

Whether its starting something completely new and different, or just tweaking projects already begun Leo will see everything with a new sparkle in their eye and a can do attitude in their mind.

VIRGO: HAGALAZ

Hagalaz is a rune of delays, of disruption, of learning that some things are beyond your control.  Often this rune indicates short term, but severe, disruptions that lead you to new heights once they are overcome.

Overly critical, perfectionist Virgo will have a hard time dealing with the Hagalaz energy of sometimes you just can't win.  No matter how well one plans, or how careful one is, sometimes things just go wrong, and its no one's fault.  This is always a hard lesson for Virgo to accept, and this month will be no different.

Hagalaz does lead to better things though, once the lesson that you are not really in control has been learned.   Generally, the more extreme the disruption in your routine, the more necessary it is that you learn to let go of blame and accept life on its own terms.

LIBRA: BEORK

Beork is a rune of fertility, marriage, sometimes of a new family member-perhaps a blood relative or perhaps someone who we accept as family without an actual ancestral connection.

For relationship loving Libra Beork just reinforces what they already know: that connections and relationships are important, that we should always be open to new people.   People should be accepted as they are and treated with fairness and harmony.

By the end of the month Libra may have a few new people in their circle of friends and family.  There may be a new relationship for those looking, and possibly a little one on the way for those who have been trying.

SCORPIO: WUNJO (REVERSED)

Wunjo reversed is a rune of setbacks, of difficult passages, of unhappiness and needless self-sacrifice.  This rune reversed indicates a time of uncertainty, of a need for self-examination.

Scorpio, with its need to take control, and its desire to find the reasons behind everything, is bound to be particularly frustrated by this energy.  Take care not to let this frustration push you into making unnecessary sacrifices.

Keep in mind Scorpio, that most of the distress caused by reversed Wunjo is that which you inflict on yourself, through endless questioning and brooding.   Accept that there are delays, that things don't always go well, and realize that it is not up to you to fix everything, many times the lessons being taught are for someone else.

SAGITTARIUS: MANNAZ

Mannaz is a rune of humanity, of giving your all, of selflessness.  This rune often presages a time of major growth, of living up to your full potential.

This is a good fit for adventurous, always learning Sagittarius.  Your open mind, your optimism and overall good attitude when paired with Mannaz - well, the sky's the limit for how far you can go!

Keep learning, keep trying new things, make the most of any hand you're dealt and you will soon find yourself growing in ways you had never imagined.

CAPRICORN: KENAZ

Kenaz is a rune of learning, of craftiness-both the sly kind and the creative, of clarity, self-awareness and enlightenment.  This rune signifies knowledge both of one's self and of one's world.

Capricorn with its focus on the material world, on the practical, and on structure will do well with the more concrete aspects of Kenaz.  Learning, especially how to do crafty and practical things comes naturally to you.

However, you must not neglect your inner knowledge and learning.  Spend at least as much time learning about yourself as you do learning about seemingly more practical matters.  Only by doing this can you realize the full potential of Kenaz and reach your own well-rounded potential.

AQUARIUS: ISA

Isa is a rune of stasis, of standstill.  This is a time to step back and let things take their own course.  Do not try to influence or manipulate events; this is a very strong rune of protection-it is best to let it have its way.

This is not something that will be easy for analytical Aquarius who is always eager to try something new, and to stretch their boundaries.  By all means, learn all you can about the delay, the more you learn the less frustrated you'll feel.

Just remember that the lesson in Isa is patience, to learn to let things play out on their own.  Do not use your knowledge to try to force results, that course of action will be sure to backfire on you.

PISCES: NIED

Nied is a rune of obstacles, of learning to deal with constraint, of making the best of a bad situation.  This rune is all about attitude-we can either get bogged down with despair worrying about the delays and obstacles we're dealing with, or we can find a way to deal with them.

This is a mixed rune for Pisces; your innate creativity will help you to find ways to deal with these blockages, but your emotional side may tend to get bogged down in despair and feelings of not having done enough to prevent the problem.

Remember that Nied is not about responsibility or blame, it is a rune of learning to cope, of teaching you how to circumvent the obstacles that life throws your way.  Focus on finding solutions to the problems given you instead of focusing on the problems themselves.
